Fast approaching its 20th anniversary this coming October, Southampton Sight’s Book Club for the visually impaired still delivers its members everything a fan of literature could desire – good books, good company and, of course, good cake.
Run by our wonderful trio of volunteers – Marie, Rosemary and Karen – the club meet every 4th Friday of the month to discuss the ins and outs, twists and turns, and character motivations of whichever book happens to be in the spotlight. From historical fiction to detective whodunits, literary masterpieces to modern classics, the club members receive each tome in audio form to listen too at their pleasure before the face-to-face chatter over coffee and cake.
If you or someone you know is a budding bookworm and would like to join other lovers of literature for an informal social get together, please send an email to support@southamptonsight.org.uk or call for more details on 023 8076 9882.
