Great Western Railway Adventure – Thursday 8th August
In partnership with Great Western Railway, travelling to Portsmouth Harbour and then jumping onboard the ferry to Gosport, attendees will experience all the elements of train travel. Including tactile and audio exploration of the station, and extra time given to support alighting and disembarking the train. Each child/young person will have an opportunity to practice and refine their independent train travel skills whilst supervised by qualified Habilitation Specialists and a Great Western Rails Accessibility Mentor.
QE2 Climbing Activity Centre & Zip Wire – Tuesday 6th August from 10 am – 12 pm:
As part of the Active Nation collaborative, this activity is a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself on a variety of indoor climbing walls before heading outside to take to the skies and experience the thrill of the zip wire.
Wet Wheels Power Boat Experience – Friday 9th August
Come and join the Wet Wheels power boating experience, a disability specific activity, specialising in making power boating fun for everyone. This is your opportunity to experience an exhilarating ride across the Solent. Come onboard the fully accessible power boat and discover the joy of the water, gain independence, learn new skills and let the sensory experience the water offers broaden your horizons.
Wood Mill Activity Centre – Tuesday 27th August
We welcome you to the challenge of paddle boarding and shelter building, an all day event spent on the water, with a qualified instructor teaching paddle boarding, building balance and co-ordination skills. In the afternoon we will be learning to survive in the great outdoors, working as a team, improving communication skills and generally have a fun time, building a shelter that, fingers crossed, should survive all weathers!
