There was something in the air last week at our annual staff away day as a lovely benefactor had offered to pay for a fun activity for the staff I have just made a donation to Southampton Sight; I want it to be used for the benefit of the staff. I feel that you all work hard to look after everyone and deserve a reward!’

So, we went to Chewton Glen for a curry cookery experience because it always brings out so much fun and energy in people. The session began like all good sessions should with coffee and homemade cookies. We were all raring to go and headed straight to the cooking stations where Chef Gerard started the class with a demo of the curry basics and how to cook chicken biryani from scratch with home blended spices and rice! I like to think we all mastered this in no time and showed great effort and enthusiasm for the different tasks. We then moved onto Sri Lankan Fish curry and a tarka dahl. We learnt some new tricks, some new ideas, who didn’t like fish and learnt how to balance our flavours and then sat down together to sample our cooking delights with a beverage or two. We all agreed it had been a great success. So, all the staff just want to say THANK YOU – we love looking after our members but are very grateful for this fantastic experience.
