Living with Glaucoma, leaving him severely sight impaired, David, 72, is determined not to let his vision hold him back. As he states in his own words: “I wanted to challenge my disability and do something for my soul but more importantly I wanted to do something to help others affected by sight loss.”
And what a challenge! Not one for doing things by halves, David has set himself the goal of walking 160 miles along the historic pilgrim trail of Camino de Santiago de Compostella. Setting out from Porto in Portugal and completing his epic journey at Santiago, Spain, David has given himself just 13 days to complete the walk, including one day of well-earned rest. Starting on 13th May and accompanied by two very able brothers-in-law, Mike and Adrian, this family affair has generously offered to fundraise on our behalf.
