Let’s catch up with our incredible supporter, David Maddocks, who recently completed a 160-mile walk along the Camino de Santiago – from Porto, Portugal to Santiago, Spain – all to raise funds for Southampton Sight.
At 72 and living with glaucoma, David set out to challenge his disability and do something meaningful for others affected by sight loss. Joined by his brothers-in-law, Mike and Adrian, this intrepid trio completed the pilgrimage in just 13 days, raising over £3,900 for our charity!
David recently spoke with David Hogg of RNIB Connect Radio, sharing reflections on the walk, the emotional highs and lows, and what inspired him to take on such a monumental challenge. You can listen here.
We’re so proud of David’s achievement and grateful for his support. His story is a powerful reminder that sight loss doesn’t define your limits – it can inspire new ones.
