We are delighted to announce that we have been chosen as one of the Garfield Weston Foundation’s charity partnerships!  The generous grant, donated to help fund and support the core running of Southampton Sight as a whole, will allow us to continue providing the information, advice and mental wellbeing services consistently, underpinning and securing all we do here in support of the visually impaired community.

Established in 1958, the Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded grant-maker that gives money to support a wide variety of charities across the UK.  Each year the Foundation gives away its income and donations have continued to grow – to date it has donated over £1.5 billion, of which over half has been given away in the past ten years.  In the most recent financial year the Foundation gave away over £100 million to just under 1,800 charities across the UK.

Charities like ours could not provide the stability of care, social and peer groups, or the ongoing wellbeing initiatives currently on offer at Southampton Sight.  We are both proud and grateful to have joined the Garfield Weston Foundation in our year long partnership and look forwards to developing a long-term relationship moving forward.
