As I have had my sight condition from birth, Southampton Sight has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. This organisation and those involved in keeping it running have become like family to me. The support I have received has been indescribably valuable within all stages of my sight journey. Coming from an ethnic minority background has meant that I had additional barriers when trying to access support, but Southampton Sight has supported me in navigating all aspects and challenges. I particularly found it helpful when transitioning from being supported as a child, to then having help to put the right support in place for when I became an adult. They have supported me through navigating needs with education, personal challenges and connecting with other visually impaired people in the local area at every stage of my life. Sinem
