At Southampton Sight we’ve been celebrating – we promised you good news and here it is – we have been awarded £291,900 over 5 years from the National Lottery Community Fund. The funding secured is to pay core salaries so we can move to become a sustainable organisation. Our strategy to do this includes – the development of a volunteer and apprenticeship programme for people living with sight loss, the move to ensure that at least 50% of our Board and our volunteers have lived experience of sight loss and that we are successful in achieving Matrix accreditation.
