Today, the team from Specsavers rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into a whole range of jobs around our centre. From cleaning resources to undertaking the annual stock take their support is making a real difference.

But that was only part of the story.

The day also featured our Cooking Without Looking Bake Off Championships and finished with a lively Showdown Challenge. Throughout the activities, volunteers took part in sight loss awareness experiences including sighted guiding, a blindfold icebreaker challenge and plenty of opportunities to see the world from a different perspective which included an inspirational talk from Tom McInulty and of course the wonderful Toby!

And if you wanted lunch, there was a catch. You had to make it yourself while blindfolded.

There has been plenty of laughter, learning and teamwork, all while raising awareness of sight loss and helping spread the word about the challenges many people face every day.

Volunteering in action. Awareness in action. Community in action.

Can it get any better than this?
