When people hear the word “blind,” they often picture total darkness.  But in reality, blindness takes many forms.

Some individuals have no light perception at all.  Others may see light, shapes, or have usable vision in certain lighting.  Sight loss can affect central or peripheral vision, or cause blurry, distorted vision due to conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, or cataracts.  It’s often progressive—and emotionally challenging to navigate.

At Southampton Sight, we understand that every person’s experience is unique.  That’s why we offer need-led, client-centred support—tailored to each individual, and available when it’s needed most.

If you or someone you know is affected by sight loss, we’re here to help.
