Our Nourish Nook initiative is a wonderful example of how a simple idea can create a big impact. Each week we receive a delivery of surplus food from FareShare, a national charity that redistributes good-quality food that would otherwise go to waste. We contribute a small weekly delivery charge to help make this possible, and in return we receive a fantastic range of ingredients that help us create delicious meals for our members.

Because the food we receive changes each week, the menu is always a surprise! This gives us the opportunity to get a little creative in the kitchen and design our lunch club meals around whatever arrives in the delivery. It keeps things interesting and ensures that perfectly good food doesn’t go to waste.

Nourish Nook also brings people together. We currently run two lunch clubs each week, alongside two other groups that combine laughter and lunch, giving members a welcoming place to enjoy a meal, share stories, and connect with friends.

Any surplus food is also made available to members to take home, helping reduce waste while supporting people with the rising cost of living.

Good food, great company, creativity in the kitchen, and less waste for the planet—it’s a win-win all round. Why not come along and join us? You know you want to!
