Southampton Sight hosts a monthly NHS Low Vision Assessment Clinic — a free, friendly service to help you make the most of your remaining vision.  Patients are referred from Southampton Eye Unit and seen in the community by a professional low vision practitioner.

What’s involved?

  • A relaxed chat about your daily challenges
  • Vision tests for reading and distance
  • Expert advice from a NHS practitioner
  • Recommendations for magnifiers and support tools

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or looking to refresh your aids, this clinic is all about empowering your independence.  Another example of partnership in practise offering community solutions for people living with sight loss in Southampton – as our famous Meercat said – Simples!
