We were delighted to welcome Overbury and CooperVision to Southampton Sight for a special Cooking Without Looking session. With blindfolds on, our nervous guests got hands on in the kitchen measuring, grating, mixing, and kneading their cheese scones completely from scratch.
Their creations went straight into the oven and were later judged Bake Off style… and the results were delicious! To round off the day, everyone took part in Sight Loss Awareness activities, gaining valuable insight into living with visual impairment and how to support those with sight loss.
One of the participants said after the experience: “Please pass on our thanks to all those that took the time at Southampton Sight in sharing their experiences and how advances in technology are making things more accessible. It was humbling how challenging/ discombobulating navigating a space blindfolded was and how much we take our sight for granted.”
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us!
Cooking without Looking is a practical team building session which tastes good AND feels good. If you or your team would like to have a go please contact us at support@southamptonsight.org.uk or call 023 8076 9882 to find out more.
